Symposium Venue

The symposium will take place on the Vaihingen campus of the University of Stuttgart, in the Electrical Engineering building, Pfaffenwaldring 47. The symposium office will also be located in Pfaffenwaldring 47.

Travel by plane

From Stuttgart airport (STR, sometimes called Stuttgart-Echterdingen):
Take the S-Bahn (local train, station marked with this sign sbahnlogo directly below the airport terminal) S2 or S3 in the direction of the main station (Hauptbahnhof) and get out at the 7th stop, Universität. This takes about 15 minutes. Leave the S-Bahn station in the direction marked Universität; when you reach the top of the steps, you will find the conference buildings in front of you: Pfaffenwaldring 47 diagonally to your left and Pfaffenwaldring 9 directly across from you.
In case you have booked your accommodation through the hotel department of Stuttgart-Marketing GmbH you will receive a ticket for public transportation by email. Please make sure to print out this ticket as it is valid throughout the whole Stuttgart metropolitan area (VVS region) for the duration of your stay. You can use this ticket for your journey from Stuttgart airport to the symposium venue, otherwise you need to buy a ticket for two zones before boarding the train.

From Frankfurt airport (FRA):
The train station is directly next to the airport terminal. There are frequent high-speed trains to Stuttgart main station (approx. 75 mins).

Travel by train

From Stuttgart main station, take the S-Bahn (local train, stations marked with this sign sbahnlogo) S1, S2 or S3 in the direction Herrenberg, Flughafen / Airport, Vaihingen or Filderstadt and get out at the 4th stop, Universität. This takes about ten minutes. Leave the S-Bahn station in the direction marked Universität; when you reach the top of the steps, you will find the conference buildings in front of you: Pfaffenwaldring 47 diagonally to your left and Pfaffenwaldring 7 diagonally to your right.

Travel by car

At the junction Stuttgart-Vaihingen, follow the road to Stuttgart, take the second exit “Universität”. See the roadmap and the plan of the campus. Please note that it is very difficult to find parking spaces on or near the university campus – we encourage you to use public transport.
